Me at The Atlantic on the continually great Deerhunter song “Monomania.”
In which Roberto Lange (Helado Negro) and Jon of Bear in Heaven sing a lovely tune to one another. “Relatives” comes from Helado Negro’s Invisible Life. I wrote about it and him for MAGNET here.
Yum.

My friend Kenny sent along a wonderful video of the great Texan band Balmorhea playing in some sort of geological museum. If you know their music, you know vocals typically serve as texture (when used) and nothing else. The potential for where this band can go next feels limitless.
Here’s something I wrote in a recent issue of MAGNET about the band’s most recent album Stranger.
